Behind every community business that has failed, there is a story…a story that needs to acknowledge the past, understand the present situation and create the future.
The story of the Pyramid Hill Bush Nursing Hospital is one of an organisation that came to a point where the Commonwealth Department of Health and Ageing (DoHA) had exhausted all efforts to bring about significant and lasting change to the organisation and its services. The facility faced closure when the Aged Care Standards & Accreditation Agency applied non–compliance and probable sanctions. In summary it was a case of “get the cheque book and keys Michael, if you can put forward and deliver on a practical and achievable turnaround plan, we won’t close the facility”.
Working closely with the Chief Executive Officer of the Alcheringa Group, Ann Rough and her senior management team, Michael mapped a path to recovery. Pyramid Hill Bush Nursing Hospital now forms part of the Alcheringa Group.
