May 19, 2016 saw key opinion leaders and strategic thinkers from across aged care and disability meet in Canberra at the Inaugural Aged Care and Disability Summit.

The three key objectives of this Summit were to identify, understand and determine:

*  the current and emerging aged care and disability system, organisational or service barriers and issues for ageing people with disabilities, their carers or families

*  the future inter-sectorial strategic policy issues that will need to be addressed at a systems, organisational or service level for ageing people with disabilities, their carers or families

*  a strategic blueprint that can be further developed and promoted to Commonwealth and State Government Ministers, Departmental Executives, National Peak Bodies to advance the agreed issues and solutions.

Michael facilitated this event, as well as presenting on the big picture of aged care, health care, disability and mental health, and what these moves to a customer driven, competitive marketplace mean for organisations and their clients/customers, existing services and business models.
